The building sites of the city

During this time the northern wing of the future Königsberg castle was being built. The ditches were deepened and the water from the pond was brought there to fill them. The first bridge on Pregel was built at the same period. The name of it was Kremer-brucke (Shop Bridge) and it connected the north-west of Kneiphoff with Alstadt. Lots of churches were being built in the city. The Uditter church, which has retained until these days was built in 1288. Nowadays it looks far from past times, but some features have remained. Now there is located Sviato-Nikolskij Cathedral in the reconstructed building.
