The death of Hans Luther

28’th of October 1575 was a grievous day for Königsberg because Hans (Iogann)Luter, the son of the great reformer Martin Luter died. He was having an official journey around German cities as a court councilor. He was buried in old church of St. Nicholas in Alstadt. The memorial sign was placed there in 1859. Margarita The daughter of the great reformer had been to Königsberg many times also. In 1555 she married a German landowner Heorg von Künheim and settled with him in Mülhausen estate. (today the village of Gvardejskoje in the area of Bagrationovsk). Margarita died in 1570 and was buried in local church.
