The revolutionary town

In 1918 In Königsberg was held the session of Königsberg magistrate under the leadership of the oberbürgermeister S. Kerte, the establisher of the “Motherland defence” party, at which the city government had to resign it’s commission to soldiers and workers. On the 28’th November 1918 the soldiers of militia occupied the castle, the part of and other important military establishments. On the 3’rd march 1918 the troops of general Winning forced through into the town. The 3 day battle ended with the defeat of militia. Many members of it were put to death, the others were put in prison. Nevertheless as a result of the revolution, all the I World War upheavals, the monarchial power in Eastern Prussia had been abolished.
