Club KOVCHEG

The club was set up on the basis of the secondary school in 1994 by Shcherbakova Tatiana Ivanovna, a teacher of music, ethics, world culture, and who is up till now its permanent art director. Today “Club KOVCHEG” is an independent officially registered youth organization with more than 200 members. Many of them, including former ones, are now students and graduates of institutes of higher education in Kaliningrad, Moscow, Saint-Petersburg and some cities in Germany, mainly of humanitarian and creative specialities. KOVCHEG admits young people willing to display and develop their talents and abilities as well as to make a contribution to the development of the club. KOVCHEG repeatedly took part in regional rock festivals, festivals of bardic poetry (All-Russian Grushinsky festival, UHANA festival etc.), gave open-air and closed concerts, where groups from KOVCHEG rock studio played, exhibited graphic and art works of club members, held photo exhibitions and poetry readings with participation of other writers. The art director of the club is also its chief scriptwriter and production director of philosophical plays and performances, which are played by members of the club, who often are co-writers as well. The club has a wide circle of contacts with representatives of the creative intellectuals in Kaliningrad and in the region, in Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, as well as in Sweden and Germany.
