Verkhotura

The dance theatre “Verkhotura” in Kaliningrad is a dynamical stage where dancers and actors can fearlessly perform their creative experiments. Aspiration to find the expression of the inner world brought the dancers to the contemporary dance. The theatre’s leader Vitaly Glukhov and his like-minded fellows try to realize their ideas via actorish skill and the sense of rhythm. The main purpose of the dance theatre “Verkhotura” is the achievement of the inner freedom. The dance theatre “Verkhotura” was founded in 2001 in Kaliningrad. In 2002 “Verkhotura” took part in the II International Festival of contemporary dance “TANTSTRANSIT” with a mini-performance “Seawoman”. In June 2003 there was a premier of the play “Soul”with the use of the video specially filmed for this on the Baltic Spit. There are different plays, performances and choreographic etudes among the theatre’s works with which “Verkhotura” takes part in actions, presentations and parties.
