Middle Band

The jazz ensemble of the Kaliningrad Philharmonic “Middle-Band” was founded not so long ago, but has already declared about its existence not only in Kaliningrad but also beyond its borders. The group won the second prize and the title of a laureate of the jazz festival “Blues aquarelle” in Lithuania. Since 2003 the ensemble became a philharmonic collective. The repertoire consists mostly of jazz music. The resent work of the group is a concert programme dedicated to an American trumpet-player and jazz composer Miles Davis. The director of the group is Vyacheslav Khudyakov; he graduated the Kaliningrad Music College, worked at different concert scenes and culture centres in Kaliningrad, played in Lithuania and Poland. The soloist of “Middle-Band” Tatiana Malygina studied the Kaliningrad Music College, after the graduation she sang in Poland. In Kaliningrad she became famous as a vocalist in the jazz band “Yantar” under the direction of B. Yurieva. She played also in many prestigious culture centres of the city, clubs, cafes, restaurants. Since 2003 she is a soloist of the jazz ensemble of the Kaliningrad Philharmonic.
