Yuri Pavlov

Yuri Pavlov is a photo artist, who is well-known in his native city. He is a member of the regional public organization of photo artists in Kaliningrad. The field of work is advertising and applied photography. Since 1978 he took part in more than 20 collective exhibitions in Russia, Poland and Germany. He took part in the exhibition “Simply photographers” (the Gellman’s Gallery, 1999, in the framework of the festival “Cultural heroes of the 21st century”) with the interactive photo project “Washing out their sins”. The project is presented by 13 photo portraits of a large size, on which male types presenting different strata of society are pictured. The portraits of this series are united by a common way of presentation: all characters are pictured at the moment of douching them with water. Somebody washes out their sins often, somebody does it rarely. The morning procedure in shower is one of the forms of rehabilitation after a sinful satiety.
