Valentina Borisovna Soloviyova

Valentina Borisovna Soloviyova spent her childhood among the ruins of a small town in the former Eastern Prussia, where she lived till she was 17. She dreamed and wrote stories, tales, plays, poems and continues to do it now. Her first book of poems “Steps” was published in 1966. Then she entered and graduated the university in Kaliningrad and went to work by assignment as a village teacher. At the age of 22 she returned to Kaliningrad and married the artist Valery Kovalyov. She worked as a laboratory assistant, librarian, hairdresser, member of research staff in museum. At present she is a literature editor of the publishing house “Yantarny skaz”; the author of several books in different genres: fiction, melodrama, tales and others. She is a laureate of the regional professional award “Recognition”.
