Vladimir Lvovich Kornienko

Vladimir Lvovich Kornienko (1935-1990) graduated school № 1 in Kaliningrad and then polytechnic institution in Leningrad. He worked in different building organizations. In the 60s he was a leader of the Kaliningrad youth poetry, was at the head of the literature association at the newspaper “The Kaliningradsky Komsomolets”. He was a participant of different All-Union meetings and seminars of young literary people. His first poems were published in magazines “Yunost” and “Smena”. In 1966 in Kaliningrad was published a small poetic book; it was released untitled because the publishing house flatly refused the title offered by the author “No matter how they kill”. Then a book of poems for children was published and was called “Cycle Race”. His too frank poems and speeches for justice and against existing dogmata shut the door to publications. His best poems were released only after his death in 1990, collected in a book “Participation”.
