Albertina university

It was built in 1861. That was the project of the architect Shtyler. The building which was surrounded by the gallery was one of the most ceremonial buildings of that time. On the pediment there was a glyph mounted statue of the Duke Allbreht, the founder of the Albertina University. The university was decorated with figures, which symbolized four faculties (the justice, medicine, philosophy and theology). It was also decorated with the busts of famous scientists, who taught in the university. The last lecture, which was read in that university in the 1944, was devoted to the Dostoevsky’s art. It was a secondary school there in the 1966. From 1967 to nowadays it is one of the blocks of the Kaliningrad State University, which was renamed in 2005 to the Russian State University of I. Kant.
