Sachem Gates

Entrance to the ancient Koenigsberg was through the Gates of wall fortifications. The remains of medieval fortress Gates can be discovered only with the help of excavations nowadays. These Gates were replaced by the new ones in the middle of the 19th century. Sachem Gates entered the system of internal encircling of Koenigsberg. They were raised at the place of medieval ones in 1855- 1860 years. They are situated at Litovsky Val, where it crosses Moskovsky Avenue.
