The house of technicians

The Hall was built in 1925 by famous German architect Hane Hopp as a part of the Eastern fair. The fair had been functioning since 1920. There were constant exhibitions with the machine- building innovations. There were shops and cinema also. The Hall was the place for meetings and mass celebrations. In the autumn of 1925 there was huge exhibition of the Soviet goods. For many years after the WWII the Hall the ruins and the nearest streets were used as a manufactured goods market. On ruins of the Hall remains some sculpture decoration, such as “Master workers” by Arnest Feliz and “The Worker” by German Brahert. At the rear side it’s possible to read German phrase “Man, be the master of machines”. The workers have been reconstructing the Hall since 2004.
