The Kaliningrad Regional Philharmonic Hall

The Catholic church was designed by F. Heitman. It was sanctified in 1907. The building in Neo-Gothic style made of bricks has high tower with perspective arched entrance from south. There weren’t funeral services in church. There were christening and wedding ceremonies. Sometimes people called church Catherinen Church because of the St. Catherina’s hospital that was situated nearby. After the Second World war the church was used as store. The church was restored in 1970-s in order to open there the city concert hall. First concerts were held there in 1980. The Regional Philharmonic Hall that is situated in the church is very popular among city residents. The organ was erected in 1982. it has 3600 trumpets and 44 registers. Which allows to be played the most difficult music. World-famous musicians visit the Kaliningrad Regional philharmonic Hall.
