The Fort №1 "Stein"

At first it was named “Laut” after the nearest settlement of the same name. (The settlement Isakovo at present days). The Fort was renamed in 1894 after the prominent German politician, lord Henrich Fridrih fon’ Shtine. The Fort is surrounded by water ditch, close situated to the fortressed walls. The ditch was 5 meters depth. There was bridge over the ditch, which linked the Fort with the adjoining territory. The fort capitulated in the morning on the 9th of April 1945.
