The Grolman Bastion

It is defensive complex, the biggest strong point. It was built in 1851. The Bastion was named after the hero of against Napoleon war, the reformer of Prussian army- general Karl Vilgelm Von Grolman. The biggest Bastion consists of horseshoe looking court, which was used as a shelter for soldiers, canonries and prisons inside a rampart. The Bastion was considerably damaged by Soviet Army during the storm of Kongsberg. There was a vegetable storehouse in the Bastion during the Soviet time. Nowadays this fortress memorial is under reconstruction.
