The blotter at the common grave of Soviet soldiers

Memorials
Address: Pogranitjnaya street at the city stadion
The monument had been erected at the common grave of Soviet soldiers, who were killed in battles in the suburbs of Preusisch-Eilay in February and March 1945. At first those were the burials of Soviet soldiers who died of wounds and who were in the field hospital. After the Soviet troops had entered Preusisch-Eilau, the field hospital was located in the secondary school-building, and the first burials had been made not far from the school stadium. Later, in 1950s the small and separate common graves, which were spread over the suburbs of the city, had been transported there (by October the 1st 2005 there were 3357 people). Amongst the people who are buried there are the Hero of The Soviet Union lieutenant colonel N. K. Kovalyov and well-known Tatar poet F. Karim.
